What stays on your device

Every accession, object, photo, receipt, loan, condition check and deaccession record, and your settings, are written to your browser's own IndexedDB storage in a database called curatorbook. There is no server side to this site: it is a set of static files. Nothing you type or photograph is transmitted anywhere.

That means the catalogue belongs to one browser on one computer. It does not follow you to another computer, it is not backed up by us, and nobody else can read it. Clearing site data for this site removes it, and some browsers clear it on their own after a site goes unvisited. Save the catalogue file after every session and keep a copy off this computer.

Donor names and addresses

Accessions, receipts and loans hold the names and addresses of donors, depositors and lenders. They stay in this browser like everything else, are printed only when you print, and go into the catalogue file you save. That file is not encrypted: store it as you would the paper accession files. Curatorbook asks you for no personal details of your own.

Photos

Photos are resized inside the page and stored in this browser. They are never uploaded.

Spreadsheets and catalogue files stay on your device too

A spreadsheet you import, or a catalogue file you open, is read inside the page. It is not uploaded, stored or seen by us.

Printing

Registers, labels, receipts and reports print through your browser's own print dialog, and saving as PDF is done by your computer.

No accounts

There is no sign up, no sign in, no email capture and no password to lose.

What is collected

No account, no advertising identifiers, and no analytics of what you enter. Standard web server logs kept by the static host may record the request for a page, its time, and a network address, in the ordinary way any web server records a request.

Page counts

This site counts page visits through Cloudflare. The count sets no cookie, it cannot follow you from here to another site, and nothing you enter is part of it. It records that a page was opened, not what you typed.

Purchases

If paid features are offered, purchases are handled by RevenueCat and Stripe, who receive what a checkout needs. An anonymous purchase id is then kept in this browser so your access is recognised. Your catalogue is never sent to them.

Cookies

Curatorbook sets no cookies of its own and carries no advertising or cross site tracking scripts.

Changes

If this policy changes in a way that affects what is collected, the change will appear on this page.
